State Policy Clearinghouse
The State Policy Clearinghouse is a resource for information sharing on state legislation and other chapter advocacy activities that affect the lives of people with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers. The Clearinghouse provides support to Alzheimer's Association chapters and state coalitions through legislative analysis, issue kits and the development of strategies on a variety of issues such as Medicaid, driving and dementia, long-term care workforce, prescription drugs and special care unit disclosure. The Clearinghouse publishes an annual report that is designed to furnish advocates with a snapshot of Alzheimer-related legislative activity and the work of Alzheimer's Association chapter advocates. The most recent annual report is the State Review 2004. Also available in PDF file format is the 2004 Legislative Platforms. The platform packet includes platforms from Alzheimer's Association chapters in 17 states, demonstrating the variety of issues advocates are working on at the state level. A complete list of policy publications available from the Clearinghouse can be obtained by writing the Alzheimer's Association at 1319 F Street, NW, Suite 710, Washington, D.C. 20004, Attention: Order Fulfillment.
